Hi my name is Dave Sakamoto, founder of Info On The Web. By solving difficult ERP problems,
my mission and goals are:
1) To prevent people from losing their jobs being blamed for the ERP failure.
Although the ERP failure rate is high, it is not their fault. Its often the complexity of the ERP.
(see ERP Problems/Disasters links below)
2) Help ERP Consultants to expand into new markets, including Universities and Government Agencies.
Info On The Web developed a process to solve difficult ERP problems.
It has 3 key components:
1. Personnel with Accounting, IT Programming education and unique Audit experience.
The combination of the 3 enable us to design solutions.
2. Programming capability to turn the solution designs into reality.
We can use pretty much all programming languages, but we often use VB.Net for the bigger,
heavy duty solutions, and PHP for the smaller ones.
3. APIs. Custom APIs are used to solve ERP problems.
For example IOTW's DUPLICATE API will identify possible duplicate Payroll and Vendor payments.
APIs are a key component of solving difficut ERP problems. Click this link for more API information and which leve of API user you may be in.
WHAT INFO ON THE WEB CAN DO TO SOLVE DIFFICULT ERP PROBLEMS
1. Create the missing reports, and eliminate spending hours and days to create reports on spreadsheets.
2. Solve ERP functions and features not working.. We create the solutions and functionality that runs with the ERP. Continue using most of the ERP functions, and we solve the “missing 20%”. We do not touch the ERP source code, as that is usually asking for disaster.
API AND API USER LEVELS
APIs are considered to “go together with ERP like peanut butter and jelly” (add link)
They provide a way ERP sub-systems can communicate with each other and gives you a cloud view of your business.
APIs fall into "External" and "Internal".
External APIs are often the basic Read and Write APIs built into the ERP. Internal APIs are the custom APIs designed and created by the ERP Consultants to solve difficult ERP problems. IOTW has designed and created many custom APIs. We can create new API's or modify existing ones in your ERP system which can give you the agility to adopt new business functions and processes which can help you reduce cost and provide high-level reporting for your business.
API USER LEVELS
We see ERP Consultants and users falling into 4 levels of API Usage.
Level 4 - Not know what API stands for or what it can do.
Level 3 - Know APIs are key to solving difficult ERP problems, but not have knowledge
or staff to effectively utilize APIs.
Level 2 - Currently using some APIs but have need to use it more effectively, especially creating custom APIs.
Level 1 - Designing, creating and using custom APIs effectively to solve difficult ERP problems.
WHAT INFO ON THE WEB (IOTW) CAN DO FOR YOU WITH APIs.
For the ERP consultants in Levels 4 and 3, IOTW can take you into Level 1 immediately.
You can offer solutions to solve difficult ERP problems and create missing difficult reports you could not before.
For ERP consultants in Level 2, looking to expand further, IOTW can work with you to reach a higher level.
For ERP consultants in Level 1, contact me and lets compare notes and see if we can help each other get even better.

Implementing and getting ERP systems to run effectively is a VERY difficult task.
If you are having difficulties, you are not alone. Many consider it nearly impossible.

The diagram below shows the steps that go into Info On The Web solving ERP problems using the Sakamoto ERP Solutions.
1. Access ERP and other data. The tools we use include APIs (Application Programming Interface), Webhooks,
CDC (Change Data Capture), central Data Warehouse (DW), and more, based on the situation.
Most organizations already have one or more. If not, IOTW can create or assist to
design and create the tool you need.
2. Using the ERP Data, along with add'l data we create in our separate database, we create reports, features and applications missing or not working in the ERP.
We add missing fields and data to the DW when it is more convenient and works better than trying to add them to the ERP.
My solutions enhance and do more than the ERP.
3. IOTW will analyze and design solutions to solve the ERP problems using the Sakamoto ERP proprietary solutions we've created. And design new solutions when needed.
See "Why It Works" below for reasons I believe why my solutions work.
4. IOTW can create and implement the solutions, or assist and work with your IT and Accounting staff.
- I typically do not touch the ERP source code. Thats usually asking for disaster.
My solutions work with and enhances the existing ERP.
I believe the reasons the Sakamoto ERP Solutions I design works is from two factors:
1) Applying the combination of my Accounting / CPA, and MBA/IT education and experience.
2) The main reason is my audit experience with the Colorado State Auditor's Office.
For each problem we discovered, we were asked to try to come up with up to 4 solutions.
Internal Control was also emphasized in our solutions, to help avoid or easily identify problems in the future.
Looking back, that was excellent training.
We've unfortunately heard of too many situations where auditors were ordered by their bosses not to dig into potential problems, but look the other way in order
to get lucrative consulting jobs from the client. (Enron and Arthur Anderson Auditors is one very well known example).
That must have been so frustrating for honest auditors. The Colorado State Auditor's Office was completely different.
The experience and training to be creative with developing multiple solutions was invaluable.
1) Created All Missing ERP Reports:
My ERP journey began at a the University of Colorado. At the initial PeopleSoft ERP implementation, where I was managing
the Denver campus Accounting Office, the approximately 10 custom reports all users had relied on for years were not available.
We were told it could take 2 or more years to get them. Nobody knew what to do in the meantime. I decided to use my Accounting, Computer and Auditing
to create my own ERP solutions and reports. I designed the web based custom ERP solutions, and implemented them with the help of student programmers.
My ERP Solution provided all of the missing reports
and more. I also solved all the ERP problems I could get my hands on.
2) Add Missing Fields and New Reports:
Most users need new fields and reports that do not exist in the ERP. Sometimes those new fields
can be added easily and integrate with the system, often not. When I was told it could be a few years
before new fields and reports can be added, I added new fields and reports that works to our own datawarehouse.
Now we could create fields and reports that the ERP by itself could not provide.
3) New Property Management Program:
Designed, created and implemented a new property management system for a large organization
that was still using an old mainframe based system. We added many missing features and information.
4) Joint audit participation, and findings.
I participated in a joint audit of a large university with staff from 3 audit organizations:
Colorado State Auditors Office, private CPA firm, and internal audit staff of the univesity.
In the final audit report, 90% of the audit findings were those I found. That gave me insight
into the value of the audit experience I had received at the Colorado State Auditors Office.
5) PDF Auto Fill mobile and web application:
A real estate company was manually filling in hundreds of PDF forms online using data already in their Excel files.
They asked IOTW if we can automate it, to save time and human error. IOTW created the PDF Auto Fill solution that did this automatically, eliminating most of the manual data entry needed.
I worked at CU Denver in the Budget Office when we transitioned over to People Soft.
I was trained as a Super User. One of the serious problems we had was the reporting.
We could not get accurate financial data from PeopleSoft reports.
The budget office needed real time data that was accurate and that could be ran easily and quickly.
Dave Sakamoto from our accounting office was able to get those reports for us.
His development of his ERP solutions provided us with not only timely and accurate reports but they could be customized to what we needed.
Dave has extensive knowledge in accounting, auditing and IT.
The conversion over to PeopleSoft at CU was a tremendous undertaking.
If we would not of had Dave's expertise and ERP solutions we would not of been able to transient over so quickly.
Susan P.
University of Colorado Budget Policy Analyst III
The ERP / PeopleSoft initial implementation at the U of Colorado was, to put it nicely, not good,
missing most of the reports we needed. Dave used his Auditing, IT and Accounting knowledge to
design his unique ERP custom solutions that solved many problems. If you are having ERP problems,
including lack of exact report needed, and complicated functionalities not working right, don't give up.
If Dave can't solve it, then its ok to give up.
